Louis van Gaal met the world’s media this afternoon, and our Dutchman was in fine form as per usual. He didn’t look in the best of moods from the off, and when quizzed about the reported £150million ‘war chest’ that has been branded about in the media since last night, the 62-year old didn’t take that well whatsoever.
“I think its disgusting always writing about numbers. I don’t think Woodward said anything about that.” Van Gaal said. “It is disrespectful to my players, and I don’t like that. I have to work with these players, I believe in these players.” He added.
It seemed as though the gaffer wanted to solely focus on the match, rather than bizarre subjects like his relationship with Ronald Koeman and potential transfer figures. Which, to be honest, is only fair.
A few questions later, he was then asked about Wayne Rooney’s fitness. He responded with – “Thats the best question of this press conference, very good.”
