Manchester United made a bold £38million move to sign the little-known striker Anthony Martial on transfer deadline day, but the former AS Monaco man has been an instant hit both on and off the field. His manager is certainly pleased with his contribution, and had his say on his best position.
“I think his best position is the striker’s position but he needs to develop himself still.” The Manchester United manager said.
Its all well and good saying that the striker role is Martial’s best position, but you still feel that Louis van Gaal will shove him out wide whilst an uninspiring Wayne Rooney continues to walk into the side as the main striker.
Watching Rooney play this badly whilst Martial is having to make an impact from out wide is frustrating for the fans, so it makes you wonder just how the 19-year old Frenchman is feeling about the situation.
You just wish that Martial is given one chance to show what he can do in a big game up front, and if he takes that opportunity you’d imagine they’ll be no looking back.
