Manchester United have had a whole host of injuries decimating the playing squad recently, and Louis van Gaal has today met the media ahead of the Liverpool game, and admitted those problems are easing up. He went on to say that plenty of those injured players should be back and available at some point this month.
Then the Iron Tulip gave us the positive news that both Bastian Schweinsteiger and Antonio Valencia are both back in training, and it won’t be long before they are back in contention for selection.
“Antonio Valencia and Bastian Schweinsteiger are coming back. I think a lot of players shall come back in month of March.” Van Gaal began. “Bastian has had only 1 training session with us. Valencia has had a week so he is closer to being on the bench.”
This is great news, particularly in the case of Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German has been missing for quite some time, and that has left Louis van Gaal looking extremely thin on the ground in terms of fit midfielders, so to have him back makes things easier for the Dutchman.
Lets not count out the importance of Antonio Valencia though. The much-maligned Ecuadorian could well play a key role from here on out, especially with the poor form of Matteo Darmian since he return from injury himself.
