Louis van Gaal says Man Utd fans’ expectations are too high

Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal hasn’t had the best of seasons, with his side finishing in fifth on goal difference. The Iron Tulip’s head is wanted by the Old Trafford faithful, with large sections of the fans calling for the appointment of Jose Mourinho.

After the 3-1 victory over Bournemouth, Louis van Gaal clearly didn’t endear himself to the Manchester United fans at all – as he claimed their expectations are too high.

“The fans are expecting a lot. These expectations are much too high. We’re a team in transition, I said that when I started here.”Louis van Gaal said.

Louis van Gaal has to realise that he said that two years ago now, and last summer he claimed that his side would be challenging for the title.

That obviously didn’t happen, with turgid, boring and dull football on display for the most part – particularly around the Christmas period.

It certainly feels as though the club are preparing for life after Louis van Gaal, but he still has one huge game to play – the FA Cup final. This is an absolute must if he wants to have any chance of keeping his job going into next season.
