Louis van Gaal says United won’t make any signings this month

Manchester United completed the signing of Victor Valdes just over a week ago now, and Louis van Gaal has now all-but confirmed that the Spanish goalkeeper will be United’s only piece of incoming transfer activity until the summer window.

The Dutchman has said that United ‘won’t be very active’ as the players he wants won’t be available in the middle of the season.

“I don’t think that we shall be very active as not many players of a certain level are available,”

“I have said that when we buy a player he has to be better than the players that are playing now and that is a difficult job.”

Whilst its a bitter blow that we’ll see no fresh faces arriving in this window, its good that Van Gaal won’t enter the market just for the sake of signing players. He knows exactly who he wants to fit his philosophy and playing style, and we all have the utmost confidence that the Iron Tulip will get it spot on.
