Louis van Gaal set to stay on as Manchester United manager – report

Manchester United Football Club and their fans could well have been expecting a new manager in the Old Trafford hot seat for next term, but according to reports coming out of Louis van Gaal’s homeland, that may not be the case.

The usually reliable De Telegraaf say that Louis van Gaal has been given assurances by the Manchester United board that his job is in fact safe, and he will be in charge next season.

At times this season Manchester United have looked lost and without identity, but alongside that there have been some fantastic performances from the club. We’ve gone from losing 2-1 at home to Norwich, to comfortably beating City at the Etihad, and the inconsistency makes it really tough for the board to decide on what to do.

Personally I don’t think he should be judged until the end of the season. We’re still in with a real shout of finishing in the top four, as well as having a chance at winning a trophy if things go our way. Another huge plus is the fact that Louis van Gaal is willing to give youth a go, and that has been on display several times this season.
