Lukaku worried Man United will price him out of Inter Milan move: report

Romelu Lukaku’s time at Manchester United can only be described as mixed. The Belgium international has scored 42 goals in two seasons which is a pretty decent record, but throughout his time at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old has remained consistently inconsistent.

Rumours of a potential United exit for Lukaku are starting to pick up pace – although the latest update from the Daily Mirror suggests the Red Devils’ #9 is getting concerned that his wish to leave may not be granted.

Their report states that Lukaku is ‘worried’ that a switch to Inter Milan won’t happen because United will price him out of a move away.

Apparently, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to cash in on the striker as he sees Lukaku as surplus to requirements, with new Inter coach Antonio Conte keen on signing the man whom he tried to lure to Chelsea back in 2017.

The Serie A giants are willing to pay Lukaku’s £175,000-a-week wages, although they were hoping to sign the Belgian for around £50million.

Understandably, that figure is far lower than a value United are willing to accept – with the Reds looking to recoup as much of the £75million that they paid to sign Lukaku two years ago.

The Mirror say that Edward Woodward would want around £70million – but again, that seems low to me, further highlighting United’s terrible record when it comes to selling their big-name players.
