Manchester United have signed just one player this summer, with the Red Devils sealing a deal for Daniel James.
If the 20-time Premier League champions are to compete in the 2019/20 campaign, more new additions must follow. It does seem as though United are trying to get back to what they know, though – signing young players.
According to a report from the Telegraph, United are considering a move for the Ligue 1 starlet, Mathis Rayan Cherki. The 15-year-old is the latest in a long line of French teenage prodigies, with the attacking midfielder attracting some serious interest from all across Europe.
Major sides like Real Madrid, Juventus, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all keen, as are the Old Trafford club.
Cherki will be able to move to another European club when he turns 16 on August 17th, and it seems as though several top sides are planning to make their move as soon as possible.
United has been built on signing young players, with the club nurturing their potential and turning them into world-class footballers. Why not try to get back on track with a strategy that has helped deliver so much success? Although I do have my doubts about whether Cherki will move to the Theatre of Dreams this summer, particularly when you look at the other clubs who are in for his signature.
