Man United considering move for 18-year-old attacking starlet: report

Manchester United’s ideology has always been to develop youngsters and harness their talent to turn them into world-class superstars.

Somewhat surprisingly, that mantra has continued under Jose Mourinho. As the old saying goes, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. Latest reports reckon the Reds are looking to do similar once again.

According to talkSPORT, United are considering a transfer bid for Bristol City attacking starlet, Antoine Semenyo. The 18-year-old forward is currently on loan at Newport County, having netted five goals this season.

According to talkSPORT, even a Bristol City member of staff has admitted that he has been sat down with United representatives, and they say that the Red Devils were impressed with the young man.

I love deals like this as they’re extremely risk-free. Semenyo would be cheap, meaning there would be no pressure on him to perform. Instead, he’d be allowed to develop at his own pace, working at some world-class facilities under the tutelage of brilliant coaches.

It seems like a no-brainer to bring him in if United feel as though he’s talented enough, but I wouldn’t expect anything to happen until next summer at the very least; due to his season-long loan at Newport.
