Man United could land world-class left-back in audacious swap deal: report

Manchester United’s poor summer transfer window was well documented, as Jose Mourinho was only given three signings; one of which was a third-choice goalkeeper.

Now, though, it looks as though the club is looking to right those wrongs, with an audacious swap deal involving Paul Pogba potentially in the offing…

That’s according to Tutto Mercato Web, translated by the Daily Express, as their report says that Juventus are trying to bring the French midfielder back to Turin – possibly using the world-class Alex Sandro as bait…

If you recall, Sandro was heavily linked with an Old Trafford move over the summer but the transfer never came to fruition. Apparently, the Red Devils’ interest in the left-back hasn’t wavered, with United sending scouts to watch him play Young Boys on Wednesday night…

With Luke Shaw in such good form, I do wonder whether Mourinho’s interests should be focused elsewhere, but Shaw’s injury record is probably still concerning the self-proclaimed Special One.

As for letting Pogba leave, I wouldn’t wholly be against it if the price is right. Make no mistake about it, he’s our most talented player, but what use is that to us if he isn’t showing that with regularity?
