For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the injuries are worryingly begin to mount up.
Manchester United’s squad is looking extremely decimated right now and that certainly poses a problem going forward. Now, that list could have been potentially lengthened.
According to The Sun, Eric Bailly was hauled off during an Ivory Coast game last night – after being involved in a nasty head collision in which there were fears he had swallowed his tongue.
The 24-year-old was enjoying his outing after scoring Ivory Coast’s second goal before the incident – in which his teammate had to open his mouth and check that he hadn’t swallowed his tongue.
Thankfully, after a few minutes, Bailly managed to get up and ease concerns. Rightly, he was immediately subbed off. Head injuries aren’t to be played with, they’re extremely serious and it’s something that this sport should do more about; using American sports as the benchmark.
I’m still of the opinion that Bailly is the best defender at the club. He was truly outstanding in his debut season, but since then, the injuries have piled up and the confidence has gone down. Hopefully, he can get back to his best in the not too distant future.
