Man United defender reaches personal agreement with Serie A giants: report

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian has reached a ‘personal agreement’ with Serie A giants, Juventus.

The 28-year-old,  is apparently Juventus’ primary summer transfer target as they look to add a full-back to their ranks, and in all honesty, it’s a move that makes sense for all parties.

When Darmian first moved to Old Trafford he looked great, but after a few short months in Manchester United Red, his true colours seemed to show. At times, the Italy international looks slow, positionally unaware and quite frankly, just not good enough.

Manchester United’s right-back has barely played this term, and no doubt he’ll be considering his future at the club, particularly as his place in Italy’s World Cup squad has to be called into question.

This is a man who is a brilliant Serie A defender and a return ‘home’ will kick-start his career. Sometimes, you just have to hold your hands up and admit it when a transfer doesn’t work out. United should let him go while there is seemingly genuine interest in him, as it’d allow the club to get a decent transfer fee; making the most out of a bad situation.
