Man United defender ready to quit club, Arsenal & Spurs interested: report

Manchester United’s defence has been far from ideal to start the season, with Jose Mourinho’s men conceding in four of five games so far.

One man who hasn’t started 2018/19 well is Eric Bailly. The Ivory Coast international could now be ready to quit out on Old Trafford, if a report from the Daily Mirror is to be believed.

After being demoted to the substitutes bench, the former Villareal man could be eyeing a move away from Manchester, with both Arsenal and Spurs keen on bringing in the 24-year-old should he become available.

Bailly was outstanding in his debut season. He defended aggressively, won tackles, played on the front-foot and became a real leader for the defence. However, he regressed massively last year and that has to be a concern.

He started this campaign nervously and has looked a shell of himself. You cannot forget about his talent, though. On paper, he’s by far and away our best centre-back. I’m tipping him to get back to that in the not too distant future.

I just don’t see United parting with him, particularly to a Premier League rival. He needs to just get his head down and keep working. No doubt he’ll be back in the starting line-up soon…
