Manchester United kept up their incredible Premier League form with a brilliant 3-2 victory at home to Southampton.
It was a game filled with goals, incidents and talking points; including a penalty miss from a certain Paul Pogba.
Now, according to The Sun in an exclusive, the aforementioned spot-kick caused a bust-up between Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.
Apparently, Lukaku was keen to take the spot-kick and seal his hat-trick, although regular penalty taker Pogba took it – and obviously went on to miss it…
The duo had to be calmed down by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the dressing room at full-time, as Lukaku reminded Pogba that he was on his side during the whole Jose Mourinho debacle.
Honestly, if this is true, I don’t mind. Both players mean well, they want to reach the same end-goal of winning football matches. Pogba is our regular penalty taker and with a chance to seal the game, I didn’t mind the decision of him taking it.
You also have to factor in that Lukaku hasn’t even taken penalties during shootouts in the past which is concerning. Imagine if he’d have demanded to take this one, missed, and then Southampton went on to equalise?
At the end of the day, it’s a team game, they’ll kiss and make up and be best of mates before the next game. It’s as simple as that.
