Manchester United Football Club have entered talks with Lazio chiefs, about the possibility of signing the immensely talented Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
That’s according to Italian media outlet II Messaggero, per The Sun. Apparently, both United and Real Madrid have contacted the Serie A side, with Lazio likely to demand in excess of £120million.
After Serbia’s exit from the World Cup, things should speed up regarding the 23-year-old midfielder. While out in Russia, he massively impressed with some incredible performances alongside Nemanja Matic. Following his exploits at the tournament, his price will only rise.
The Red Devils would have certainly been in the market for a new midfielder this summer, but after Marouane Fellaini agreed to a contract extension, I’m not really sure whether that’s still the case.
Don’t forget, we’ve already added Fred into the mix this year, and you don’t want to make too many changes in one area of the field, as having one player who’ll need time to adapt and adjust is enough.
Honestly, I’d like to see him spend another season at Lazio as he continues to learn his craft. If he’s still available next summer then that’d be the ideal time to make the move. Hopefully, he has a torrid twelve months and his price comes down a little bit!
