Man United eye move for Meunier after being priced out of Wan-Bissaka move: report

Over the last few days, we’ve been busy covering stories aplenty in regards to a potential Manchester United move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

This morning, though, it looks as if the Red Devils are turning their attention elsewhere. According to the Daily Mail, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now eyeing a move for Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier – after being priced out of a move for Wan-Bissaka by Crystal Palace.

Apparently, Palace’s high valuation have led to United holding ‘fresh talks’ about signing the 27-year-old Meunier – who would likely cost around £25million due to a winding down contract.

Although you get the impression that Wan-Bissaka is United’s top right-back target, Palace are determined to keep ahold of their academy product this summer – hence why they’ve slapped a hefty price-tag on the 21-year-old’s head…

I’m actually surprised it took this long for United to be linked with Meunier. The Belgium international is being criminally underrated this summer and there’s no doubt he’d be a massive improvement on Ashley Young in such a key area of the field.

He’s pretty quick, positionally solid, a tough tackler and tall in stature. These are all attributes that you need to play in the combative Premier League, and again, at just £25million, it’d be an absolute bargain.
