Manchester United Football Club picked up another all-important three points this evening, while making it fifteen games without defeat.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were worthy winners at the Amex Stadium, beating a Brighton side who had been in good form post-lockdown.
From minute one, the tone was set. United wanted to play on the front-foot and create those opportunities, and it didn’t take long before Mason Greenwood had the 20-time Premier League champion on their way.
In these games where teams sit back, it’s all about making the pitch big and providing width. Luke Shaw did that throughout and it was brilliant to see him make those lung-bursting runs.
It’s not something we’ve come to expect from Shaw, but since the emergence of Brandon Williams, Shaw has definitely kicked his game up a notch and tonight was no different.
The link-up with Marcus Rashford down that left-hand side is only improving, while Shaw was more than capable of fulfilling his defensive duties, too.
Yes, there’s still work ahead for Shaw but the signs recently have only been positive and long may that continue. I guess it helps that he’s remained injury-free for prolonged periods and we’re now beginning to see glimpses of the top-class talent we paid £30million to acquire over a half-decade ago now…
Thankfully, I wasn’t the only one impressed with Shaw’s display, with United fans taking to Twitter to heap praise on the 24-year-old’s quality display vs Brighton:
