Man United fans not happy with David de Gea after another high-profile error

For Manchester United, this season is just going from bad to worse. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now realises just how huge a task he has ahead.

Derby day defeat was, quite frankly, embarrassing. City didn’t even get out of second gear and they were all over us, particularly in that second 45 minutes.

To sum it up, David de Gea’s horrendous last month or so continued. An argument can be made that he should have done better with City’s first, but there’s no doubt that he was at fault for the second.

It’s just worrying to see how arguably the best goalkeeper in the world over the last few years has fallen so dramatically. With each passing game now there seems to be a key mistake. That’s alarming.

With one year left on his deal, would you honestly be surprised if United cashed in on the 28-year-old? At this point I certainly wouldn’t, and to be honest, I’m not sure you could blame the club if they chose to do that.

Personally, I’d give Sergio Romero his chances from now until the season’s end. We could already have the replacement on our books. Dean Henderson is also worth contemplating.

As you’d imagine, the United fans all over Twitter weren’t best pleased. We’ve compiled some of the best reactions below… and it’s fair to say they aren’t happy.
