Whisper it quietly, but it does feel like the confidence is flowing through the players at Manchester United again.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer never gave up and kept these guys working hard behind the scenes. Now, the Red Devils are reaping the rewards and yesterday’s 3-1 victory over Brighton attests to that.
Games are won and lost in midfield and yesterday, United had control of that area throughout – largely thanks to Scott McTominay being a one-man wrecking ball, though Brazilian Fred deserves his fair share of credit.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk man was excellent. His passing was on point, he didn’t mind getting stuck in and there was a willingness to roam forward with the ball where possible. He looked confident and in control, and was a deserved candidate to win the Man of the Match award.
Thankfully, us here at Old Trafford Faithful weren’t the only ones who were pleased with Fred. United fans were extremely pleased with the 26-year-old all over social media, so we’ve compiled some of the best reaction.
Our friends over at @UtdXtra state that it was Fred’s best display in United colours, while others are starting to finally feel like the Brazilian is turning into the £50million+ player that we signed in 2018’s summer.
