Well, Manchester United lost 2-0 at Anfield this afternoon – though the overall game is a bit of a weird one to work out.
On one hand, we looked competitive and in it at times, though on the other, we were outclassed. Injuries have definitely played their part as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad is looking horrendously thin, and to be fair to him, I thought he managed it pretty well.
It’s a tough one to gauge because nobody likes losing to that lot under any circumstance but I reckon we have to be looking on the positive side. Going forward, with players fully fit and healthy and a couple of signings made, you have to be happy.
During the game, one United player stood out more than most; Fred. The Brazilian covered every blade of grass for the cause, worked his socks off on both sides of the ball and actually looked like a player worth £50million.
It has taken him some time to adapt but credit where it’s due – there’s definitely a quality footballer in there somewhere. Again, it’s Ole whose unleashed him and dragged that out of him.
The fans weren’t going to let it go unrecognised, either. They took to Twitter in their masses to rave about the 26-year-old’s display vs Liverpool and rightly so. Quality.
