Manchester United are slowly but surely beginning to rediscover their identity. Credit for that heads in the direction of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, as his players are beginning to reward the faith shown in them.
Romelu Lukaku has now left, Alexis Sanchez could follow suit. The pressure is firmly on the shoulders of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial. It’s fair to say they’ve started brilliantly.
It was the Frenchman who’d scored the Red Devils goal away at Wolverhampton Wanderers last night, with the #9 putting in a convincing display in more ways than one.
He took his goal as clinically as ever. Martial only needs one half-chance to hit the back of the net. His eye for goal is unmatched within the Reds squad – which is why it was a smart move to start him as the main striker.
For me, it was about his all-round performance. He worked harder than I’ve ever seen before. The hunger was there, the desire to hunt down the ball and bring teammates into play. This is the Martial we all know and love.
After the game, United fans took to Twitter in their droves to praise the 23-year-old after his stunning performance – and rightly so, he deserves every single positive comment that’s heading in his direction.
