Manchester United Football Club kicked off their 2019/20 campaign in stellar fashion. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer beat Frank Lampard’s Chelsea 4-0, with the Red Devils given a real day to remember.
New signings Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were both solid throughout, though it was the other new-boy who stole the show.
Coming on as a second-half substitute to hurt Chelsea with his electric pace, Daniel James scored on debut – to top off an outstanding cameo display from the Wales international.
The only thing better than the goal itself was the celebration. You could see the passion, the desire, the hunger and it was fantastic. The whole family must be so proud, including his late father who’ll be watching on with a smile from somewhere.
Anyway, check out the best Twitter reactions to the goal below:
This is the perfect start to James’ Old Trafford career. Now it’s about kicking on and using it as a motivational tool going forward. Breaking into that starting line-up will not be easy, particularly with Mason Greenwood vying for minutes, too…
James, though, he has that raw pace that can hurt teams. He’s probably the fastest player at the club right now, and he could be a more than useful super-sub as the #21 continues to find his feet in the Premier League.
Congratulations, Daniel! What a debut. What a moment.
