Man United fans react to Fred display vs Reading, they’re not impressed

Manchester United safely progressed into the FA Cup fourth round this afternoon, with a relatively routine 2-0 victory at home to Reading.

The game itself was somewhat of a forgettable one, with United easing themselves into the hat without really getting out of third gear.

While it was great to see the Red Devils go through, these sorts of matches always tend to see a dip in performance due to the sheer amount of changes that is made by the manager.

Nine switches were made from the last performance and it showed – and perhaps the worst of the bunch was the display put in by Fred. The midfielder isn’t looking anything close to the £50million+ player that United invested in and that’s a massive cause for concern.

Whether he’s trying too hard or just isn’t good enough remains to be seen, but whenever the ball ends up at his feet, things just seem to go wrong. His passing looks wayward, Fred often looks far too slack with the ball at his feet, and often, he makes the easy things look far more difficult than they need to be.

Perhaps in time, Fred will improve, but at the moment everything is looking to be a real struggle for the Brazil international. As you’d imagine, the fans were less than impressed and they vented their frustrations on social media…
