Ever since making his Manchester United breakthrough, Marcus Rashford has gone from strength-to-strength. The young striker has scored goals aplenty for club and country, and now he’s off to the World Cup.
During England’s final warm-up game for Russia 2018, it was United’s #19 who set the game alight. Not only did he score an absolutely outrageous goal from way outside the area (beating Keylor Navas, no less), his all-round performance was one to be admired.
He was threatening, quick and fearless; something that over the years, Three Lions teams have lacked. The Wythenshawe-born-forward has certainly staked his claim to get the nod against Tunisia in England’s first group game. At the very least, he has given manager Gareth Southgate something to think about.
As you’d imagine, Twitter became awash with praise for the forward, with Rashford more than deserving of it all. There were a few doubters, though, who couldn’t help but blame Jose Mourinho, suggesting that the United boss isn’t getting the utmost out of the young Englishman. Anyway, we’ve compiled our favourite tweets for your entertainment.

Rashford reminds me a lot of Luis Nani. Scores a lot of screamers and on his day he can be really good. But goes missing way too often. Needs to improve his consistency. #mufc

If Jose is looking for a backup striker for Lukaku next season we should go for that Rashford who played for England last night. He looked an amazing talent

When we you all open your eyes! Just imagine Rashford with a manager that would let him express himself. Jose stifles and cripples flair, don't even come at me. ⚽️

Watching Rashford and Welbeck score tonight reminded me how grateful all of England should be for Manchester United’s academy… #ENGCRC

I’m quite sure that the person who should take the most responsibility for Marcus Rashford’s club form is Marcus Rashford.

Rashford scored 14 goals and 10 assists in all comps last season . No one in his age group managed to do more . He also got the most number of apps for a player his age. People are really dumb to think mourinho is holding back rashford
