Manchester United’s tour continues today with a game against Leeds United. The Red Devils will once again utilise two different XIs in each half, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men getting out to an early 2-0 lead.
It was a real open affair with the first goal coming from academy graduate Mason Greenwood. The teenager rounded off a well-worked goal, as Paul Pogba found Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who put in an excellent cross which the 17-year-old tucked home confidently.
Credit has to go to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for putting his trust in the young man and hopefully, he continues to do so when the serious stuff starts next month.
As you’d imagine, the fans were absolutely delighted as Greenwood scored his first goal for the senior team, and rightly so:
United fans have been desperate for a new right-winger over the last few years and perhaps they have the man who can fill that role already at the club. Greenwood looked a real threat throughout, forming a brilliant partnership with Wan-Bissaka in behind him.
The movement, the interplay, the creation of chances and the sheer pace was brilliant to see. This boy has the potential to be something special and you get the feeling this is the start of his long and fruitful United career.
