Man United fans unimpressed with sub-par David de Gea vs Bournemouth

Manchester United Football Club made hard work of it, but eventually, the Red Devils’ quality shone through and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men won 5-2.

The game started in a rather stressful manner, mind, with David de Gea getting beaten at his near-post (again). It’s an unwanted trend that’s happening far-too-frequently for my liking, that’s for sure.

Now this isn’t me wanting to pile on De Gea, he was far from the only negative to come out of today, but we’ve come to expect better from a man of his class and ability.

Recently, though, the errors are creeping into his game and it’s extremely reminiscent of his early time at the Theatre of Dreams… This Roy Keane rant wasn’t too long ago, either.

It wasn’t just the opening goal, either. You look at his distribution which was pretty terrible throughout and it often caused more unnecessary problems for a United side who (fortunately) are scoring goals for fun right now.

We are talking about a world-class shot-stopper here, though there area weaknesses in his game that are being exploited pretty regularly at this point in time. That’s something Solskjaer has to address.

With Dean Henderson continuing to emerge and impress with Sheffield United, Solskjaer has a big decision to make. Interest in the young Englishman continues to grow, while I’ve made it pretty common knowledge that I’d prefer Henderson to be given his chance next season.

For now, though, I’ll leave you with several unimpressed United fans, who weren’t happy with their star’s poor outing today…

  1. The error for the defense sometimes makes DG look book, has been the Savior behinds the sticks for so long, still trust him though, give some head up. For Dean not so sure he is ready to carry the mantle of leadership @united
