Man United favourites to sign classy playmaker rated at £40million: report

Manchester United have been linked with a move for James Rodriguez this summer.

Apparently, the Colombian is back on the Red Devils’ radar, amid doubts about his long-term future at Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. That’s according to Spanish media outlet Don Balon, per Team Talk.

The 26-year-old signed a two-year loan deal with the Bundesliga club, but doesn’t want to make it permanent. Now, United are ready to swoop with a £40million (€45m) move; the fee that it would have cost Bayern to sign him on a long-term deal.

Rodriguez is a fantastic footballer. He possesses qualities that the majority of others in the United squad simply don’t have. He’s quick, an excellent passer and has a rocket of a shot on him. That ability to create chances all by yourself is an immensely rare commodity; and he’d improve any team in world football.

United have struggled to find that reliable #10 who can dictate play. If Rodriguez was signed, there is no doubt that we’d look a whole lot better in the final third. Sometimes, we just look confused, looking like we have no real identity. Things would change from the outset if Jose Mourinho makes this deal happen.
