Man United ‘greatly facsinates’ Max Allegri, would have to approach before December: report

After a poor run of results, the question marks about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are somewhat understandably being raised.

Let’s be honest, the Baby Faced Assassin’s struggles have been evident as soon as he was named permanent Manchester United manager.

I’m actually surprised it took this long, but now other gaffers are being mentioned in the same breath as the United job. This time around, Max Allegri’s name has been thrown into the ring.

The story comes from Gazzetta dello Sport’s Thursday print edition, translated via Sport Witness. They say that United and Old Trafford ‘greatly fascinates’ the manager, though there’s no way he’d take over as boss in any job after December – so an approach would be needed before then.

I’d like to stress that nowhere in the article does it mention Solskjaer being sacked, it just asks the question whether Allegri would want the job – which seemingly he is.

It’s also worth noting that United would stand a better chance at landing the Italian’s signature now, as opposed to next summer when you’d imagine that there would be more competition for his signature.

Allegri is a good manager, make no mistake about it. However, my stance hasn’t changed. I’m not sure there is anyone out there who could do this job at the moment. It’s an absolute poison chalice and unfortunately, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
