Manchester United are already in a must-win situation in the Premier League, despite us not being at the halfway point in the campaign yet. Ahead of a tough away game at Arsenal, Jose Mourinho has been handed a major injury boost.
It comes from Arsenal’s side of the ball, with Arsene Wenger confirming that star striker Alexandre Lacazette will miss the game at The Emirates on Saturday evening due to injury.
Wenger confirmed the news following Arsenal’s 5-0 victory at home to Huddersfield, while speaking to reporters, including Sky Sports News.
Lacazette had just started to establish himself as a regular face in the line-up in North London, and has been in good form recently – including finding the back of the net in the aforementioned victory against Huddersfield.
Without him, Arsenal have looked like a completely different team, and it gives United boss Mourinho one less problem to worry about.
Of course, it’s still going to be tricky to go to Arsenal and pick up all three points, particularly with the injury problems that United themselves have had to deal with. But, if there is any manager who knows how to get one over on Wenger, it’s Mourinho, so here is to hoping we’ve got another three points on the board come Saturday night.
