Man United hopeful of completing £44million deal before the end of today: report

Manchester United Football Club are hoping to complete their £44million big-money swoop to sign Ivan Perisic today. That’s according to the usually reliable James Ducker of The Times, who writes that the club wants a deal in place before Inter Milan fly out to China for their pre-season tour.

The Serie A side are due to arrive at their Italian training base this afternoon, before heading out to the Far East. United are apparently expected to pay £39million up front for the 28-year-old, with an extra £5million to be paid in various add-ons and bonuses.

It certainly seems like today is make or break for the Red Devils, who are obviously looking to further add to their squad before the window is done.

A left-winger seems to be top priority in my opinion, and bringing in Ivan Perisic would give us that extra dimension. This is a man who likes to stay wide and fire the ball into the box – something that new-boy Romelu Lukaku will thrive on.

He’s also experienced which is something we don’t have an awful lot of in the squad, and that wise head on his mature shoulders is probably something else Jose Mourinho wanted to bring in – as at times last season, our younger players struggled in those tight-knit matches. Hopefully, a deal will be completed soon.
