Manchester United are still hopeful of agreeing a deal to bring in Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, according to The Times, as per the Daily Star. The Croatia star, 28, is one of Jose Mourinho’s top transfer targets, although Inter Milan are keen on keeping hold of the classy winger.
The Red Devils’ transfer window has been a bit of a mixed bag so far. Three players have come in, but personally, I expected to see many more faces leave Old Trafford. The only real high-profile departure so far is Wayne Rooney.
Although our squad is looking strong, to me, it feels as though we’re one attacker short. If we pick up an injury or two in the final third, we’d be in deep trouble.
Bringing in Perisic would not only give us an extra player, but we’d also be adding that bit of quality and cutting edge. He’d offer something different, as he’s a winger who loves to hug the touchline and whip ferocious balls into the box, rather than cutting inside a’la Anthony Martial.
Will a deal be done? It’s probably too soon to say right now, but for me, he’d be a welcome acquisition if we want to win the Premier League this term.
