Manchester United seem to be linked with the same three names constantly right now; Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham.
Today, the latter finds himself in the headlines again. Bellingham could well leave Birmingham City this season, with United in the running to acquire the mega-talented teenager.
Well, according to the Evening Standard, United would want the 16-year-old to challenge for a first-team place ‘immediately’ if signed this summer.
At a cost of around £30million, he would be the ‘highest-profile recruit’ of an ‘aggressive drive’ to land the best emerging talent across the globe.
Bellingham could well be the next big thing, while such a huge fee for a teenager is something we haven’t really seen since Wayne Rooney signed for the Old Trafford club.
However, there is more risk in the Bellingham deal as he’s coming from the Championship. He hasn’t played at the highest level as of yet, though what better place to hone your talent than Manchester United?
Sure, the Reds should expect fierce competition from other potential buyers, including Borussia Dortmund, but nine times out of ten I’d back United to come out on top.
Then it’s up to Bellingham to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Nemanja Matic and Scott McTominay to force his way into the first-team fold.
