Manchester United Football Club are still looking keen on buying Jadon Sancho this summer, though all has gone pretty quiet on that front recently…
According to The Guardian’s Jamie Jackson, the Red Devils remain keen on adding the Englishman to their squad this summer.
According to the journo, United are ‘still intent’ on buying the £190k-a-week star this summer, while they’re ready to dig in and play the long-game in regards to signing the Englishman.
All had gone quiet on the Sancho front for the last couple of weeks. In fact, the most recent update we had came on August 12th, when there was talk of a potential transfer request from the Englishman. As of now, that hasn’t materialised.
Is United buying Sancho still a possibility?
Well, United’s interest in Sancho seemingly hasn’t wavered – and they still have time on their side. The window doesn’t officially close until October 5th, leaving Edward Woodward with the better part of six weeks to come to an agreement with Borussia Dortmund.
At this stage, I feel like a deal is further away than ever before. I’ve been pretty confident United would sign Sancho for the most part, though that confidence is wavering.
His ability is there for all to see. At whatever the cost, this would be a signing United would benefit from for years to come. I hope there’s some way that the Red Devils can get the deal done – and it’s encouraging to hear they aren’t giving up.
When you see Chelsea making signing after signing, a side we finished a point above last season, it’s disappointing watching United dilly-dally in the market. It’s easy for me to say but if it were me, I’d just pay up. Dortmund’s asking price hasn’t wavered, just as Leicester City’s demand for Harry Maguire didn’t change last summer. Why wait? If you want the player that badly, just go out there and get the deal done.
