Manchester United are chasing AFC Fiorentina wonderkid Federico Chiesa.
That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, translated by The Sun. The winger, 20, is widely recognised as being amongst the best young players in Italy, with the Red Devils not the only side interested in acquiring him.
Amongst the other teams eyeing a move for Fiorentina’s star man are Manchester City and Liverpool’ which says an awful lot about his immense talents.
During the 2017/18 season, Chiesa played 36 Serie A games, scoring six times. On the back of those performances, he’s also earned four caps for his native Italy; which is obviously no easy task.

This immediately raises concern for me, as that’s Alexis Sanchez’s, Marcus Rashford’s and Anthony Martial’s preferred position. That’d mean four players fighting it out for one spot in the team; and in all likelihood, it’d be Martial’s head on the chopping block.
When you add the top-heavy left-wing spot to the fact that Fiorentina have already turned down £35million for Chiesa, it’d probably make sense for United to concentrate their focus on other transfer targets first. Unless Jose Mourinho feels he simply cannot afford to pass up on this young man…
