Manchester United have been linked with names aplenty this summer, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to revamp his Red Devils squad.

Last night, a new name was thrown into the ring and it comes from a credible source; Sky Sports News

They say that the 20-time Premier League champions are ‘interested’ in signing West Ham United defender Issa Diop – and are willing to pay £45million plus a player to sign the 22-year-old this summer.

However, The Hammers are ‘adamant’ that they don’t want to sell the Frenchman, while the London club won’t even listen to offers below £60million.

Depending on the player the Old Trafford club offered, the overall valuation of the bid could have been in excess of their £60million mark, but at this moment we’re unsure as to who the player was.

Diop was brilliant for West Ham last season as he played 38 games across all competitions and put in some pretty superb performances.

I believe he’d be an underrated signing for United if they manage to pull the deal off, but you get the feeling that The Hammers aren’t going to let their key defender leave easily – or cheaply for that matter…

It goes without saying that United need a new centre-half and you get the feeling they’re struggling when it comes to dealing with potential sellers. Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld, Issa Diop and many more have all been linked with Old Trafford moves so far, as you get the feeling this is going to be an extremely long summer.
