Manchester United are interested in signing Welsh winger Gareth Bale this summer.
That’s according to ESPN, although Real Madrid have given no indication whatsoever that they’re willing to part ways with the brilliant 28-year-old.
Bale was the star of the show in the Champions League final, scoring twice (including a stunning overhead-kick) to lift the trophy for the third time in three seasons.
However, he’s had to settle for a bench role recently – which must be frustrating when you’re a player with his immense qualities.
Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t be interested in signing Bale? We’re talking about one of the best players on the planet, and there is no doubting that he’d make any side in world football a better one.
I have my doubts about the deal happening, though. Madrid hold all the power as he recently signed a new deal that’ll keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2022. They’ve also just lost Zinedine Zidane as manager, and you’d imagine Bale will feature more often in the new gaffer’s plans.
Personally, I think it’ll take a miracle for the former Tottenham Hotspur man to move to Old Trafford. It is nice to see that the Red Devils are testing the waters in regards to signing him, however.
