Man United legend arrested for public intoxication

Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has been arrested for public intoxication.

That’s according to the BBC, who say that the forward was feeling ‘disorientated’ after taking sleeping tablets on a flight while drinking.

Rooney, now 33, had been on a one-day trip to Saudi Arabia, and was arrested by officials at an airport in Virginia following the incident.

The striker was charged with a ‘Class 4 misdemeanour’ for his actions that took place last month, with a spokesperson stating that Rooney appreciates the manner in which he was treated by all involved.

Look, everyone makes mistakes. This just seems like Rooney accidentally mixed a couple of different substances, and when you’re in the air, the effects of these kind of things are multiplied even furhter.

This aside, it has been a brilliant first season for Rooney in the MLS, as he guided DC United to a play-off berth despite being dead last when he arrived.

This man is a legend of both United and England, and hopefully, this doesn’t tarnish his brilliant career. I’d like to think the media understand and appreciate that there was nothing malicious done by Rooney and this is forgotten about sooner rather than later.
