Man United make £35m offer for Brazilian attacker, bid expected to be accepted: report

Manchester United have made a £35million offer for Anderson Talisca.

That’s what Portuguese media outlet O Jogo says, translated by The Metro. The report adds that both Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also shown an interest in the 24-year-old attacker.

However, United have apparently stolen a march on their rivals in the race to sign the SL Benfica man; who spent this season on loan at Besiktas.

Furthermore, United’s £35million bid is expected to be accepted by the Portuguese club, as the proposed fee is ‘significantly higher’ than Talisca’s current buyout clause.

The player is believed to be ‘excited’ at the prospect of moving to Old Trafford, and it’s clear that Jose Mourinho wants to get this deal done pretty swiftly – particularly as he’s prepared to pay over the odds to land his man.

Talisca scored 20 goals for Besiktas this term, as he begins to make a real name for himself across Europe. There is no doubting the fact that he’s a talented young man, but do United really need another attacking player?

Personally, I’d love to see both the defence and midfield prioritised going into this summer. We still need two new full-backs, one centre-back and at least one central-midfield man. If Mourinho thinks he can solve all those issues as well as bringing in Talisca, then be my guest. I would expect a fair few outgoings if that’s the case, though…
