Man United make £35million opening offer for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele

Manchester United’s squad is in need of serious overhaul. For Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, there is far too much work to do in one transfer window, so he’s going to need time.

The Baby Faced Assassin must start somewhere and it seems as though a new striker is on his wishlist. According to Goal in France, Manchester United have made an opening bid of ‘over £35million’ for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.

Apparently, the striker who switched Scotland for France just last summer has been on the Red Devils’ radar for quite some time, and after scoring 23 goals in his debut season with Lyon, United have firmed up their interest with an opening bid.

First and foremost, this leads me to believe that there could be something in a story we covered earlier from the Daily Mirror, which claims that Romelu Lukaku is interested in a move to Inter Milan this summer.

It also backs up my thoughts that Solskjaer is seemingly trying to inject more youth into a squad that has been struggling recently. On paper, Dembele feels like a far better fit than Lukaku does – and I’m sure that the Reds could have some money left over even if they cashed in on Lukaku and signed Dembele as his replacement.
