Manchester United are yet to kickstart their summer transfer window by pushing a deal over the line despite the need to undertake a major squad overhaul.
Every day, a new name seems to be linked with an Old Trafford move. A story that is seemingly picking up pace at this point though, is Adrien Rabiot’s proposed Reds switch. Last week we covered a story from Mundo Deportivo, which claimed United had made their first move for the midfielder.
The latest story comes from Le10Sport, who write that United have offered 24-year-old Rabiot a ‘staggering’ weekly wage of £170,000-a-week to join the club on a free transfer this summer.
Rabiot, who’s Paris Saint Germain contract winds down at the end of this month, has a big decision to make. In addition to the £8.8million annual wage on the table, apparently United have also tabled a significant signing on fee of £4.4million to the Frenchman.
With Ander Herrera already gone and Juan Mata yet to sign a new contract at the Theatre of Dreams, United need to bring in at least one new midfielder this summer.
Rabiot is a complete midfielder who does everything pretty well. I liken him to a more combative version of the aforementioned Herrera – and on a free transfer it’d be well worth taking a punt on the 24-year-old.
