Manchester United are seriously in need of a new, top-quality goal-scorer. Romelu Lukaku did a decent job in that regard, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clearly wasn’t keen on the Belgian.
Anyway, the decision to thin out the squad was made by the Baby Faced Assassin and it’s already looking like a poor one. But, the good thing about football is that there’s always a chance to atone for your errors…
It seems inevitable that a new striker will be signed at some point and today, website 90min.com have thrown a new name into the ring; Luka Jovic.
According to the aforementioned website, United are monitoring the talented 21-year-old forward who currently plies his trade for Real Madrid.
Furthermore, the Reds could make an approach next summer if he becomes available for transfer at the end of the current season.
Jovic actually only made the switch to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, but so far the Serbia international has struggled for regular playing time.
To add more fuel to the fire, United aren’t the only party interested in Jovic, with Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan also asking about the player’s situation.
There is one final snippet from 90min.com, who state that right now, Madrid doesn’t have any intention on moving away from Jovic, though in future that could change.
Jovic would be an incredible signing who fits the mould. Solskjaer is looking to sign younger players who can give this club years of service rather than someone who is a stop-gap.
The 21-year-old’s time at Eintracht Frankfurt shows how prolific he can be when given a real run in the side and in a front three alongside Daniel James and Marcus Rashford, phwoar, that’s kinda’ exciting…
