Although Manchester United would prefer to keep Anthony Martial at the club, the Red Devils are demanding a huge transfer fee if they do let him go.
According to Eurosport, the Old Trafford club will ask for a huge £75million to let the 22-year-old leave the club during this transfer window.
Although it has been confirmed that Jose Mourinho would prefer to keep the former AS Monaco man at the club, eventually, the decision may not be his to make.
There is no doubting Martial’s immense abilities as a footballer. You can certainly understand his frustration, too. Before the turn of the year, he was absolutely flying. As soon as Alexis Sanchez was brought in, he struggled hugely.
What is concerning to me, though, is the fact that at the first sign of trouble, he’s ready to give up and call it quits. I love football players who’ll do what they can to change the manager’s mind. It seems as though Martial doesn’t have that mentality.
Sure, wherever he ends up, there is no doubt that he’ll go and tear it up; he’s just too good of a footballer not to do that. With that said, he has one year left on his deal (with the option for a further twelve months), so United don’t necessarily have to sell him during this window.
