Manchester United take on Liverpool this weekend, in a game that could well shape both the title race and the top-four hunt.
Before the clash, early on Thursday morning, the official club website gave us an injury update. They say that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may still be without both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard for the huge clash at Old Trafford.
They cite the manager’s pre-Chelsea press-conference, in which he claimed the duo would be missing for two or three weeks.
Our main concern was a lack of pace and sheer skill down the wing. However, Solskjaer changed up the formation and went with two strikers to nullify our weakness and target Chelsea’s strength. If the pair don’t make the squad for this Sunday’s clash, perhaps we’ll see a similar tactic deployed once again.
In their absence, it’s fair to say Juan Mata did pretty well sitting just in behind the two strikers. Marcus Rashford was brilliant as per usual.
ManUtd.com also add that David de Gea looks set to return after being rested for the cup clash, while the Baby Faced Assassin will have practically a full complement of centre-halves to choose from.
