Manchester United Football Club is ready to offer Luke Shaw and £40million to Tottenham Hotspur, in an attempt to sign Danny Rose. That’s what the Daily Mirror claims, as per The Metro.
As we all know, Shaw has found on-field minutes hard to come by this season, largely due to the form of players like Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian in front of him.
Injuries certainly haven’t helped Shaw’s case, however, and it’s a shame because there is no denying the talent and ability the former Southampton man has. You just get the feeling that Jose Mourinho doesn’t fully trust the 22-year-old, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him sold as quickly as possible.
With that said, Shaw plus £40million seems an expensive chunk of cash to sign Rose. I like Spurs’ left-back, but he has injury problems of his own. Heck, he’s only just returned from an injury that kept him out for the best part of six months.
The left-back situation has been an issue ever since Patrice Evra left Old Trafford. We haven’t had that regular guy we can rely upon. Yes, we’ve had some decent options, but it’d be so much easier for the manager if he had a go-to man.
