Manchester United could be about to shake up the footballing universe, as they prepare to make an audacious offer to try and land Kylian Mbappe.
That’s according to Le10Sport in France, translated by Plymouth Live. The report says that Jose Mourinho is ready to offer £78million, plus Anthony Martial to land the 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain starlet.
Mbappe was truly outstanding in France’s 4-2 victory over Argentina at the World Cup, scoring twice and decimating the South American’s defence with his sheer pace and talent.
There is no doubt that Mbappe could go on to be a future Ballon d’Or winner, and bringing in the 18-year-old would be a stroke of genius by Edward Woodward.
The Red Devils have been lacking that elite-level right-winger. Although that’s not Mbappe’s favourite position, he is more than capable of playing out there. That’s where he has the edge over Martial, who just isn’t good enough on that flank.
No doubt large portions of the United fanbase wouldn’t be thrilled if this deal were to go through, as Martial immediately became a fan favourite. There just isn’t room for him in this current squad, and pushing through this move would definitely bring better balance to the team.
