Man United player ratings vs Chelsea as Reds win 2-0 (Premier League 2020)

David de Gea – Honestly didn’t have too much to do. Did clatter into the post late on, though. I hope he’s okay. 6/10

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Easily one of his best games since signing. Played in a sumptuous ball for the Martial opener and was solid defensively. 8/10

Eric Bailly – What a warrior. Made an unbelievable block to preserve United’s clean-sheet and really led from the back. So good to see him back out there. 8/10

Harry Maguire – Scored a captain’s goal and you could see what it meant to him. Nice to see our captain set the tone. 8/10

Luke Shaw – Brilliant. Left absolutely everything out on that field from first minute till last. Bombed forward where possible and looked composed on the ball. 8/10

Brandon Williams – Pretty good. I’d like to see more quality when in attacking positions, but you can’t knock his attitude. 6/10

Nemanja Matic – Protected the back line well. Wasn’t scared to move forward where possible either. 6/10

Fred – Kept things ticking over nicely. He’s the glue that makes this midfield work. 6/10

Bruno Fernandes – Unlucky not to score from a free-kick in the first half. His set-piece delivery for the Maguire goal was sublime. 7/10

Anthony Martial – Tough to mark because he was barely in the game until his brilliant header got United on their way. Got better after that point. 6/10

Daniel James – Didn’t get into the game anywhere near as much as he’d like. 4/10

Subs:

Andreas Pereira – Did ok.

Odion Ighalo – Could have scored with his first touch!

Diogo Dalot – Not enough time to mark.
