Man United player ratings vs Tranmere (FA Cup fourth round)

Sergio Romero – Reliable as ever. Collected crosses, organised his defence and preserved his clean sheet during the early Tranmere barrage. 7/10

Diogo Dalot – Scored his first united goal and looked like he enjoyed it. Had a great afternoon throughout. Can bring something to the table for the season’s remainder. 8/10

Harry Maguire – Also found the back of the net for the first time in Reds colours. Set the tone and put in a captain’s performance. 7/10

Phil Jones – Scored a stunning header to be fair. There were still some nervy moments, mind. 6/10

Victor Lindelof – Quiet but effective. Marshalled the back line nicely and kept it simple. 6/10

Luke Shaw – Offered himself as an outlet down the left. Did his job defensively, too. 6/10

Nemanja Matic – Kept things ticking over very nicely in the first 45. Subbed at HT as he’s probably being saved for midweek. 7/10

Andreas Pereira – Did alright. If I’m being picky I’d like to see more from him in an offensive capacity. 5/10

Jesse Lingard – Scored a pearler (his first in thirteen months). It was nice to see him enjoying himself out there again. Well played. 7/10

Anthony Martial – Led the line superbly and always looked hungry to create and score. Finally got his just rewards to make it 5 – albeit via a deflection. 7/10

Subs:

Fred – Not sure why Ole brought him on to be honest, particularly with a big game midweek. Did well.

Tahith Chong – Won a penalty. Always tried to get on the ball and create. Looked bright.

Brandon Williams – Came on so Maguire could rest for City away. Was solid.
