Manchester United are plotting a sensational £52million January bid to bring in AS Monaco star Fabinho, according to Calciomercato, translated by the Daily Mirror.
Red Devils fans will certainly be familiar with the name, as he was constantly linked with an Old Trafford move over the summer. However, as we all know, that didn’t come to fruition.
Now, Jose Mourinho is eyeing up the possibility of spending just over £50million to bring in the brilliant Brazilian in January.
Although, they won’t have it all their own way as Paris Saint-Germain are interested as well, but, FFP constraints may rule them out of the running to sign the versatile star.
The 23-year-old is the perfect box-to-box midfielder for the rigorous Premier League style of play, and in my opinion, that’s why Mourinho wants to sign him first and foremost.
However, he’s more than capable of filling in at right-back when the gaffer wants to rest Antonio Valencia. In fact, that’s where Fabinho first made a name for himself.
It’s sad to see that wonderful AS Monaco squad getting broken up after just one year of playing together, but unfortunately, that was always going to be the inevitable outcome. Fabinho feels like one of the last remaining players from that team – and it certainly looks like he could be on the move soon. Hopefully, to the Theatre of Dreams.
