Man United prepare to launch £25m opening bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka: report

For me, Manchester United’s biggest need going into a crucial summer transfer window is signing a new right-back.

Matteo Darmian’s future is uncertain, Antonio Valencia has already left, Ashley Young is ageing and getting worse. It seems a no-brainer to bring in someone young, hungry and ready to play.

According to the Evening Standard, the Reds are ready to open the bidding for a right-sided defender. They’re targeting Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as United are preparing an opening £25million bid to try and sign the mega-talented 21-year-old.

Although the offer is ‘certain to be rejected’, it will start talks between a player who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been tracking since last December.

Palace themselves are trying to hold out for around £50million for the man who emerged as a top player during the 2018/19 campaign, while they’re expecting interest from Manchester City to help drive the price up.

I love Wan-Bissaka and if United were to sign him, it’d be a stunning addition in a major area of need.

He’s quick, tough in the tackle, a brilliant reader of the game and he has an engine that allows him to bomb up and down the flank all-game long. Aged just 21 there is major room for growth and what better place to hone your talents than Old Trafford?
