Man United ready to offload flop for £20m in January: report

Manchester United are offering Luke Shaw to clubs in the hope that someone will take him off their books, according to the Daily Mail.

It looks as though Shaw’s Old Trafford career is over, with the Red Devils looking to shift him for around £20million – meaning they’ll be making more than a £10million loss on the left-back.

Louis van Gaal brought the defender to the Theatre of Dreams back in 2014, but a series of injuries have plagued his time up North, and now United are trying to get as much value back for Shaw as the can.

The report says that Newcastle are amongst the sides who have declared an interest in Shaw, but they’ll be priced out of any potential move for the youngster.

What a shame this is. When Shaw signed, I fully expected him to nail down that left-back role and spend the next decade playing for United, but for one reason or another, that hasn’t happened.

At this point, it feels as though Jose Mourinho doesn’t trust Shaw whatsoever, and the only logical decision is to move him on and perhaps bring someone else in. No doubt, when he leaves, he’ll rediscover form and come back to haunt us one day.
